Greenfield Robotics envisions a world where farms and the food you eat are chemical-free.

But chemicals are often used to remove invasive weeds. So, what’s the answer? This company believes it’s robots.

Greenfield has created autonomous, chemical-free weed-control robots that deliver precise performance. These bots are simple to operate, cost-effective, and manufactured in the U.S. And they’ve been running on paying fields for the past four years.

Founded by a third-generation farmer and tech entrepreneur, Greenfield combines expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), engineering, and regenerative agriculture to eliminate all chemicals.

As mentioned, the traditional way to combat weeds is chemicals. But chemicals are harmful to the environment and people. They also damage a significant percentage of otherwise healthy crops.

That’s why Greenfield’s fleet of robots offers a superior solution. Its autonomous swarms cut down weeds to centimeter accuracy using drone mapping. This results in less than one percent crop damage and no more need for harmful chemicals.

The company’s robots can operate for up to six hours on a single charge. And swapping out a new battery takes just one minute. Each robot can cover up to 120 acres a week. And parts can be changed in less than fifteen minutes to increase efficiency.

Greenfield is targeting a market made up of 250 million cropland acres across the U.S. This consists of nearly two million farms.

Reservations for the company’s robots are already filled for 2026. And notable investors/customers include fast-casual restaurant Chipotle, Innovative Livestock Services (one of the country’s largest beef producers), and Mid Kansas Cooperative (an agricultural co-op that represents 11,000 farmers).

Greenfield makes money through leases of its robots, along with premium features like real-time nutrient analysis. The company has multiple patents pending and is generating minimal revenue.
