Social Network for "Anglers"
Fishidy is a digital fishing guide for “avid anglers.”
An angler is a person who fishes with a rod and line.
There are approximately 40 million recreational anglers that spend over $40 billion annually in the U.S. Fishidy connects them with a map-based social network that maximizes their time on the water by presenting and cultivating critical location-based information. Location-based information is important because 90% of fish are found in 5% of water.
Its online tool is available as an app for iOS and Android as well as a website. The tool combines interactive mapping and social networking services, allowing users access to thousands of online waterway pages, Fishing Hot Spots, and community based local-reports to ‘maximize’ a user’s time on the water.
Fishidy launched its mobile product in 2012, and its iOS and Android apps have been downloaded approximately 270,000 times. It offers a free app, as well as paid subscription plans ranging from $9.99 a month to $49.99 a year. The cost to acquire a freemium member is $0.72 vs. $50.24 for a paid member. Their lifetime value to Fishidy is $17.31 and $342, respectively.
Its iOS and Android apps have consistently ranked in the Top 300 for Downloads since Feb 2013, for the US-Sports category.
Currently, the company’s annual revenue run rate is more than $500,000, with month-over-month revenue growth of 25%.
