The Future of Air Travel?
Airspace Experience Technologies (ASX) is building the world’s first advanced air-utility vehicle.
This aircraft, known as Sigma-Six, is an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) system. It can reach top speeds of 250 miles per hour and can be flown autonomously. It also has a proprietary swappable payload, meaning it can carry cargo, passengers, and emergency response/defense-related equipment.
ASX has a Letter of Intent from the Department of Navy Future Air Mobility Command — its initial feedback was the Sigma-Six “is the most innovative air mobility platform that we have seen” — and a Memorandum of Understanding to lease twenty-five aircraft for logistical industry clients.
Engineering and testing of Sigma-Six is underway and will continue through 2024. ASX aims to begin certification with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) next year and begin manufacturing in two years.
