Engineurix Corporation is bringing new meaning to the term “wearable technology.”
It’s created a baseball cap that actually reduces your age — not from a “looks” perspective, but in terms of the wearer’s cognitive abilities.
This cap, called the Intellihat, is designed to slow the effects of cognitive decline, helping to curb decreases in a person’s memory, visual attention, and reasoning.
How’s it work? This patented hat uses transcranial electrical stimulation to gently stimulate the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), located near the forehead. The DLPFC acts like a telephone switchboard, radiating signals to parts of the brain. These signals help keep a person’s cognitive abilities at a high level.
Engineurix Corporation is led by doctors from Harvard Medical School and Rush Medical Center. Its hat is in the advanced development phase.
