A Car That Can Drive — And Fly
Flying cars? Many companies are developing those.
But vehicles that can go from driving on roads to flying through the air? Only one company is working on that — a startup called LuftCar.
LuftCar is creating autonomous air and road-mobility vehicles. Simply put, its specially-designed vehicles can drive on roads, but can be equipped with a unique air-frame forklift system that instantly gives it flying capabilities.
This company’s interchangeable vehicle is intended for military defense, healthcare, last-mile delivery, and private mobility. LuftCar was founded by Santh Sathya, who helped build 300 hydrogen fuel-cell cars for Ford and was a product engineer with Boeing and GE.
LuftCar has multiple patents pending, and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bosch Aviation.
