Depending on where you live or work, you might need Mileberry.

This company is making parcel delivery safe, efficient, and sustainable. It’s created the Mileberry Hub — think of it as a block of mailboxes for packages — that works in concert with a mobile platform.

Two things make these hubs unique:

First, they’re designed to receive items from any carrier or business. Amazon Hubs are only for Amazon purchases. But Mileberry’s Hub can receive items from Amazon, UPS, USPS, and anyone else.

Second, unlike standard hubs, Mileberry’s has special compartments — the company calls them cells — for laundry, and even hot and cold food deliveries.

Mileberry is targeting several huge markets. For example:

• The U.S. market for couriers and local delivery services is nearly $150 billion.

• In 2021, the online grocery market totaled more than $97 billion in sales via pickup, delivery, or ship-to-home options. More than 70% of U.S. households received one or more orders last year.

• And the U.S. food delivery market reached $26 billion in 2021.

The company has raised $500,000 from professional investors. And production has begun on its hubs. Later this year, Mileberry will launch a pilot project with FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL to demonstrate the value of its product. If successful, it will then launch its franchising business model and offer units nationwide.

As mentioned, parcel delivery is a huge business. It’s also problematic.

For one thing, two million packages are stolen each day in the U.S., amounting to $9 billion worth of stolen goods. This isn’t just a problem for the consumer (who doesn’t receive their package); it’s also a problem for the business which needs to send a refund or replace the product.

For another, people want to receive the things they order in proper condition. This means packages that aren’t dented or ruined by the elements. And it means groceries that are delivered cold, or meals that are delivered hot.

Mileberry’s hubs address these issues. First, there’s the security element:

Using a hub is as easy as getting your mail. You simply head to the hub, scan the QR code in the Mileberry app, or input the collection code sent via text message, and retrieve your package.

Additionally, as mentioned, each Mileberry hub can be assembled with special cells for hot or cold items. Fresh grocery lockers can be set to around 40 degrees Fahrenheit, while hot restaurant delivery cells can be set to between 104 and 140 degrees.

To power these cells, each hub is equipped with solar technology. And each one is customizable and modular, and can include as many as 45 individual cells.

Mileberry’s business model will be set up as follows:

First, hubs owned and managed by Mileberry will have advertising space, enabling the company to collect ad revenue. Additionally, shippers like FedEx and UPS will pay $1.50 to store each parcel.

Second, the company will enact a franchising model. Sales of its hubs will be about $15,000 and require a $220 monthly maintenance fee. Shippers will then pay just $0.50 a parcel.

Mileberry’s hubs are designed for apartments, malls, hotels, coffee shops, business centers, hospitals, and retail stores.

In 2022, the company projects to bring in $1.2 million in revenue. By 2025, its revenue goal is $115 million.

Team Background

Andreas Wuzke - Chief Business Development Officer

Andreas has more than 10 years of experience working in logistics and e-commerce. He is responsible for building partnerships with couriers FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

He began his career in finance, working in Germany as a tax accountant and then a finance manager. From there, he pivoted to logistics and started Click & Collect Service, a company building lockers as last-mile delivery solutions.

He earned a Master’s degree in Accounting.

Roman Novozhenov - Chief Executive Officer

Roman is a serial entrepreneur who’s launched five companies and achieved three successful exits.

Prior to starting Mileberry, he was Founder & CEO of OmniBox, a company focused on last-mile delivery solutions. Before that, he was an executive with Omnic Consulting Group, a company providing self-service solutions for retail and logistics businesses.

Earlier, Roman co-founded Unitrade Group, a logistics company that achieved a successful exit. Prior to that, he founded Valley Wizard Corporation, a digital marketing agency that also achieved a successful exit.

He began his career as a co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer with CityHour, a business networking app. Before that, he co-founded Mediamarket Group, a media holding company.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from International Christian University in Kyiv, Ukraine, and an MBA from Hult International Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
