Location:

Crooru is a mobile platform connecting healthcare providers with qualified nurses and caregivers.

By using Crooru’s mobile application, employers such as home care agencies, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities can find available, qualified nurses…

While caregivers can receive notifications for job openings and apply for positions directly on the app.

With its platform, Crooru is targeting the massive home healthcare market, which Grand View Research projects will reach $517 billion by 2025.

Recently, this market has experienced significant M&A activity — for example:

In December 2017, Humana Insurance acquired Kindred Healthcare, a healthcare services company, for $810 million…

And in 2017, Teladoc acquired Best Doctors, a mobile platform focused on diagnosing diseases, for $440 million.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 1.3 million additional jobs will be added within the home care field by 2020…

And every day, 10,000 seniors reach age 65, thus increasing the need for caregivers.

Here’s how Crooru works:

Employers post job openings directly on the app, and can screen caregivers who are interested in the position.

Employers can access each caregivers’ “HR Vault,” which contains personnel records and background information. Every caregiver must have a valid ID, valid insurance, first aid and CPR certification, and must be registered as a home care aid with their specific state.

Caregivers register on the app and can set their availability. They’ll receive job notifications of available shifts from employers, and can send their HR documents directly through the app to the employer.

In addition, caregivers can communicate with employers by phone, video interview, or through direct messaging on the Crooru app.

Crooru is free to use for caregivers, while employers pay a monthly subscription fee.

Currently, Crooru has only a non-functional prototype available, so it can demonstrate its product to potential customers.

The company has more than 500 caregivers ready to sign up on the platform. In addition, Crooru has received letters of intent from multiple home care companies.

In partnership with a group of home care companies in Orange County, California, the company will launch a beta version of its app in Fall 2018.
