DreamItReel helps companies create high quality marketing and promotional videos.

Its freelancer marketplace enables companies to:

• Draft an idea for a video they want to use on their website or social media account.

• Find animators, editors, and creators willing to make their video.

• And receive detailed analysis on the video’s performance with customers.

By offering all of these features, DreamItReel separates itself from similar platforms that focus on only one aspect of this process.

These days, companies are relying more on video than text to communicate with customers. According to industry experts, U.S. companies are projected to spend $18 billion on digital video in 2020.

But to create these videos, companies struggle between using expensive agencies that aren’t optimized for their needs, or low-cost alternatives that don’t provide customization features.

DreamItReel offers the best of both: an affordable content creation service with the option to customize the video that’s right for customers.

Here’s how it works for a company looking to create a video:

The first step guides companies through the “pre-creation” process. This is where a company submits a request, and decides on the style, length, and message of the video.

Using DreamItReel’s “BriefBuilder” software, companies are guided through the request process, and can develop storyboards for their idea. They can also purchase photos and music to be included in the video.

Next is the “creation” process. Here, companies access DreamItReel’s freelancer marketplace. This is made up of vetted producers, editors, animators, and cinematographers who can accept the company’s request and begin to create the custom video. Companies also have the option of selecting pre-packaged videos.

Finally, companies go through the “post-creation” process. This is when they can make changes to the videos, schedule content for release, and track metrics such as number of views or engagements.

With respect to pricing, companies receive a price quote when they submit their request. The price is based on factors including shooting requirements (for example, if a producer needs to travel to New York to shoot footage of Times Square), the length of the project, and any graphics or special animations requested.

Most production projects are completed within 2 to 3 weeks of being submitted. Video projects that only require an editor to review take an estimated 2 to 3 days, while animated videos can take as long as a month from start to finish.

To generate revenue, DreamItReel collects either a 15% marketplace fee per video created, or charges companies a $25 monthly subscription fee to access its freelancer services (this would be suitable for a company that needs videos edited on a weekly basis).

DreamItReel averages a 68% profit margin on each video created, and has a 69% customer retention rate.

The company began generating revenue in Q3 2015. At the time, it was strictly a video editing service. Since expanding to offer all steps in the content creation process, DreamItReel has brought in more than $3 million in revenue, completed the Coolhouse Accelerator Program, and achieved profitability.

Its customers include NBC, Nike (NYSE: NKE), the New Jersey Devils, and Merck & Co. (NYSE; MRK).
